Sian could be described as New Zealand’s startup and innovation ambassador to the world. Through her work growing the New Zealand startup community at the Kiwi Landing Pad, in San Francisco. Sian has grown the Landing Pad’s community from 200 to 6,000 in the last 3.5 years. She is a true global citizen having visited 50+ countries to foster relationships with local influencers and study the the impact of technology and investment in these communities. She embodies the philosophy of don’t travel, live.

Through her efforts, the Kiwi Landing Pad has become the bridge between New Zealand and the USA for the innovative Kiwi technologists who dream of exporting their businesses overseas, starting in San Francisco, and expanding to 10 North American cities by the end of 2019.

Sian started the well-known Sales and Marketing Jam (NZSMJ), which brings US start up and technology experts to share their experience and networks with Kiwi businesses. As the Landing Pad expands, Sian is evolving the community’s offering to help Kiwi startups to not only land, but to also launch and expand into new markets. This shift will potentiate New Zealand startups, talent, and founders to bring Kiwi innovation into the most competitive markets on the planet.

The KLP is supported by leading organisations, such as Air New Zealand, BNZ, Spark & NZTE.

Sian was named the New Zealand Global Women of Influence in 2017 after being a finalist in 2015 & 2016. She was also the winner of the North Harbour Clubs prestigious AIMES award for Innovation & Technology in both 2015 & 2016.

Sian is also well known content strategist and interviewer in the US, particularly San Francisco where she interviews high-profile global business leaders and produces digital content for their brands.
