I used to be a commercial manager at ASB and the above is great advice. Definitely get hold of the Bank. Depending on the Bank and when it was stolen they may be able to stop the payment. As a minimum ask for a trace as to where the funds went, that way you will have the information of who and where it was paid to. If it’s the same Bank see whether they may be able to freeze those funds pending clarification. Also get the bank to confirm the payment was appropriately authorised and get a copy of the authorisation. I’m assuming its an electronic payment but may not be. Immediately revoke all other electronic access they may have, including Xero etc. If the trusted advisor is anything other than a one man band immediately contact the directors/principles of the company also.
