Question :
Hello, where can we find mentors, investors and advisors for startups? We have done our business backwards and its built but we had to pivot and now seek business advise to help us back on track.

Morena – here are a few places for you to look – generally, there are a group of Government/Council related resources like (A/Teed, Callaghan Innovation) then there are For Good Groups like The Icehouse, Business Mentors NZ and then there are programmatic offerings like Accelerators (Flux, Creative HQ), Incubators (Soda) and NZ Entrepreneur and then there are also angel netowrks and funds e.g. Angel HQ, Enterprise Angels, Ice Angels etc. A few links here:

Each group has different approaches – for you, it is really about finding or fishing where there are people who have done what you are trying to do who can help you chart the path – for me, that is really then about networking and finding the people who have done it, and can give you some assistance – that might come from NZ TEch or NZ Software Association – but above all, I am one for asking your peers, who are also founders, ‘what did they do to get through’ and ‘who helped them’ – that is a good place to start.
Hi there
If you’d like to email me a bit more information about your business, your location, and what you’re looking for from a mentor / adviser, I can try to help you find the right person.
Also, there is currently free advice available, I believe,as part of the government’s small business support package, through your local economic development agency. Business Mentors NZ is also worth a look – though they may not be sufficiently “startup” specific for your need.
