  • Hi Kristan sounds intriguing. Love to learn more about the opportunity and have a confidential discussion to point you in the right direction. Give me a call 021 999577.

Hi there Kristan. If it is provisional, then you have 12 or 18 months right to file the full patent from the date of filing the provisional patent?

Can you access grants to support the patent development? If it is ‘deep tech’ – then you could look at the Tech Incubator Programme check it out here – https://www.callaghaninnovation.govt.nz/ – you will have to pitch the business plan to them and if they are keen then they invest for equity or you could look at the Regional Business Partner Network for some guidance – https://covid19.nzte.govt.nz/page/regional-business-partner-network.

Alternatively, you could try and find an investor who believes in your vision or even could you find an early customer who would be prepared to pay up front for the development?

I just read this blog this morning, really good advice and tips in it – https://medium.com/swlh/13-insights-from-y-combinator-that-every-founder-needs-to-know-ffc4be002e4c
