Shipping good overseas for our clients – Is GST Zero rated?
A number of our customers shop with us for unique children’s gifts and then head straight to the postshop to send it overseas. I think there would be an opportunity for us to do this for them where we would pack and post it internationally on their behalf. From what I read on the IRD guidelines, as long as the customers doesn’t walk out the door with the goods and I can prove they have been shipped overseas, I do not need to charge them the GST. Can someone confirm this is true, or do I need to be registered in a special way like perhaps a duty free store?
