    Hi,
It’s quickly become a very competitive landscape. With online platforms, remote support & companies arranging their own internal initiatives.
I would be interested to know what was the feedback you received from businesses or individuals you have approached directly?
This might help to work through your next opportunity to approach a local business.
    Take care JT

Hi, Would be good to understand a little more of what services and products you have and then who you are targeting. This will influence how you place them on your page and how they are described for potential clients to make a decision. If you have a link to your current page, fire it through. Cheers JT

Looks like you have had some great advice already.
My one observation… its harder to charge more in the future, than go back later and charge less. It’s a logic I initially struggled with 🙂
    Go well! JT

Hi Amanda, great to hear you have 2 clubs open. Commercial gyms are not exactly in my wheelhouse, but would be happy to talk to understand your needs a little more. My background is more so in Sports Facilities for teams. There are a couple of people that do come to mind in the industry that may be a good fit. jt@xlr8.co.nz

Hi Steve, it’s a difficult transition for sure & it certainly not one size fits all. A couple of places to consider looking: https://instep.nz/ or https://www.loffty.com/nz/
Hope one of these resonates with you or at least helps to start looking at options. Take care. Jamie

    Hi Leanne,
Great to hear you want to take it up a level. Not sure if the ship has sailed, but you could try this as a starting point: https://www.manaaki.io/1000websites/
I am happy to take a phone call if you want to bounce ideas around. I have previously designed sites to offer remote training programs and courses within the sports and S&C space.
There are plenty of companies which can build great websites… so like you elude to, finding someone to understand the space you are in and developing that relationship is important. They should be able to send you some examples pretty quickly, but I also found that finding websites I like to provide the builder also helped to determine look / feel and function.
    All the best JT

Find a platform you can relate most to & maybe don’t try to do them all:

Twitter for short insights & passing thoughts.
Instagram if pictures are more your thing to tell your story.
LinkedIn if you are looking for industry connections or more detailed articles.
Facebook for groups with common interests.

Just a snapshot of a few & thinking which may talk to you the most 😉

That & making a conscious decision why you want to use social media: to share, to sell, to connect, to inform?

    Cheers JT

Hi Leanne. Good stuff. I am familiar with what it is you are trying to do, have gone through the process myself and happy to have a chat. I am not available today (Monday 11th), but ok tomorrow and Thursday. There are several 3rd party applications that can be embedded into a website without too much hassle and would be straight forward for website developers. Check out the 1000’s free website initiative https://www.manaaki.io/1000websites/ and also take a look at Visual Coaching Pro https://www.visualcoaching.com/ before calling me, if you decide you would like to chat. 027 4877 987. Cheers JT

    Hi there,
Zoom has actually worked pretty well for the LIVE stream component and some of my athletes and S&C’s have used it to run spin classes and circuits. You can record the session…. but that is probably where the functionality ends in terms of being able to automate it. That said, the cost is right (being free). The sticking point will be if your sessions last for than 40min with more than 3 users… then you will need a subscription. The good thing is by recording the screen, you get the video and audio file to cut up and play with.
I have tried a lot of exercise prescription software and the one I believe has the most flexibility around uploading, tagging and filtering your own content is Visual Coaching Pro. They are based in Melbourne. Their standard library is ~6500 exercises, but more recently they have allowed users to record their own exercises. Its not LIVE though. You would use the recorded exercises to build your session, which actually could be a plus moving forward, as it becomes easier to keep your content fresh, reuse content or add more. Their system is easily placed inside an i-frame on a 3rd party membership site… could be an option for you. If you talk to them, ask for Luke.
    Take care Jamie

hey there… 1 thing I am asking of my athletes at the moment that has transitioned across to some of those I do business with is… writing down 2-3 goals for the day. Not to get as overwhelmed with the long list of tasks that we have sitting infront of us. Better to achieve 100% of 3 things. than 0% of 100 attempts 🙂

    Hi there.

Some great tips already. But thought I would throw a couple more in the mix.

There is currently a cool free series of webinars going on: Leadership in Lockdown.

Here is the event page with more information: https://womeninsport.org.nz/programmes/leadership-from-lockdown/

Was also thinking that the below contact May be worth dropping a line if you are looking for a mentor. Keep in mind, it’s a cold call, but Rachel may know who she can connect you with.

    Rachel Froggatt
Secretary General, International Working Group (IWG) on Women & Sport
Chief Executive Officer, Women in Sport Aotearoa
    e: rachel@womeninsport.org.nz

    Best wishes. Jamie
