- Does anyone have any tips on the best approach to finding out a single market need/pain point for a international market such as the US or UK? Without actually being local it makes it hard to validate so any thoughts would be welcomed on how this could be done from afar, or at least to break some ground initially.

- Hi team!I’ve been wanting to set up a platform that shares “Themes” and “Messages” through multiple mediums such as apparel, blogs and podcasts with an aim of growing a community of like minded people who can relate to these messages we share. Each collection will have a different theme with hopes of creating a discussion point, learning from one another and for some to even share their own experiences.”The Layers Platform” is the name of my idea.Layers of clothing with a deeper Layer of meaning behind each collection.I have designed a collection. I have quotes on all of the apparel to start. Right now, I’m struggling with the business side of things. The planning and designs are my strengths and the business side of things I am learning. Is there anything you could suggest me reading, learning from or doing to guide me through this?Thank you!Frazer

- As the Director of The Kindness Insitute, a non-profit organisation, the core function of my role is to locate and secure suitable funding for the various programme and organisational requirements. We have a robust system to identify relevant funders and have a solid diversification of funding opportunities (social enterprise, owned fundraisers etc) and currently generate enough revenue to operate successfully but not optimally or to generate growth opportunities, which is our ultimate mission, to empower all young people in Aotearoa with the skills they need to live a happy and fulfilled life. More info on our organisation and kaupapa below. My question is: what are the best ways of securing multi-year funding, ongoing corporate sponsorships and growth funding to allow us to not only serve and support our current rangatahi but push this out to a much wider reach. Our programme is evidence-based and scientifically proven to provide positive outcomes, so we have a platform that is effective, now we seek help to push this out to communities who need it. In short, based in Auckland, we are a not-for-profit, kaupapa Māori organisation that helps improve mental health among marginalised rangatahi, and those closest to them, through mindfulness, meditation and yoga, creative arts and cultural connection. Designed to encourage self-care, build resilience and leadership skills, our programmes are guided by Te Whare Tapa Whā.

- We had carried out a small amount of advertising via google and facebook over the last couple of years. Some of this was done via an agency but the bulk of our spend went on the agency and not on the advertising itself so it didn’t make economic sense to keep it up. Also, to be responsive, we really had to take on the advertising ourselves. We had just started rolling out a product before lockdown so when we could no longer get out to see potential customers social media became really important and we threw some time and $ at it and began to get some good results. We now need to ensure we are targeting the right people and directing them to the right products and, while we understand the basics of google/fb, we are struggling to move to the next stage. We have been badly stung by agencies in the past but really need some help – where can we get good quality training that goes beyond the basics?

- I have spent time during lock down developing a new website which includes an online store… we are nearing completion , my thoughts are now focusing on brand awareness and driving people to the website, we currently have a regular newsletter being sent to our data base , instagram and facebook page … the new website has a link called join the Ottoman Edit and receive 20% off your first purchase ( this is where people are added to our data base).I would like to launch the website/online store quietly to avoid any frustrations customers may have initially due to our lack of experience… fingers crossed that doesn’t happen…. ultimately increased sales are our objective.CheersLorna

- We are a small Events Hire service business, we hire bean bags, bouncy castles and marquee, we’ve suffered a loss this year due to Covid 19, we’ve had to be crafty and add a completely new Furniture moving service to the business. I would like to know if there is a app service that our small business can tap into? We have an awesome app concept for our Furniture moving service yet we’ve been quoted between 20k-50k for a basic designed app, is there anything out there that can help us out in this space that is not going to cost us a fortune please?

- Me and my friends have a business called the Mahi Dogs. We are live streamers, content dreaters, a clothing company, barber and ta moko shop and also music designers. What my question is, How do I explain all of these under one business without sounding like we are in over our heads. We love each part of these industries and it makes us unique, the environment is fun and authentic that feeds of each other but when I try to explain what we are it just sounds a bit cluttered if that makes sense. Also we are trying to get funding to Kickstart our business. What would be the best route to do so as we are not just digital and technology, nor just retain and design we are a few of these. Theres not another business that has or is all of these industries in oneMy name is Renata by the way and thank you for the help.
