How can I confidently approach prospects (B2B)? I’m young and don’t want people to dismiss me/not take me seriously. (Small business IT management/support – a.k.a Managed Service Provider / Cloud Service Provider)

Hi there, I’m about four weeks from launching a business which will assess, place and train young people into the workplace (like a business apprenticeship).  I need to find a good brand/logo/web design company/consultant – we need to look good but don’t need lots of functionality at this stage.  We have the ‘stories and messaging’ – more look/feel/design needed.  As we’re pre-revenue there’s no government funding available (I’ve tried two avenues) however need to get this going ASAP – if anyone knows of a good ‘junior’ who might be looking for a side project?  Many thanks, Scotty

In May this year I launched a new podcast called Kiwi Foodcast. Our goal is to share the real stories behind NZ’s food entrepreneurs, writers and those working in the F&B industry and show that there is more to Kiwi food than pies and sausage rolls. We have had about ten episodes release on a weekly basis and I am now looking for ideas and assistance on how I can spread the word about my podcast so we can get more listeners. I have tried the below approaches:1. Ask the guest to promote their episode – Not much success as the guest maybe promotes it once on one medium and that is not really enough. I do usually send them marketing material they can use easily but that hasn’t really helped.2. Social media – I am currently doing about 3 posts on Instagram, 1 on LinkedIn and 2 on Facebook for each episode. The reach for these posts is quite limited as my page only has 100 followers3. Facebook groups – Have tried posting on Facebook groups like Chooice but I guess its not the right medium as people don’t recognise a podcast as a ‘business’ as such. I would really like some more ideas of no-cost marketing/promotions I can do to get the word out there. I want to reach out to the media but not sure how or where to start with this.

Ripples Retreat is a single country escape accommodation cabin located in South Waitomo. We opened in July and have had a good bookings to date. Where I am best to advertise? We are a small business with a limited budget and have a website stayatripples.co.nz. We are also registered with Airbnb and Off The Beaten Track. Our guests are mainly Auckland couples who have all been amazing! Our goal is to have all our bookings come through our website. We have had good success so far with Facebook and Chooice, and I am quickly trying to get my head around social media. Kind Regards Trudy

We had carried out a small amount of advertising via google and facebook over the last couple of years.  Some of this was done via an agency but the bulk of our spend went on the agency and not on the advertising itself so it didn’t make economic sense to keep it up.  Also, to be responsive, we really had to take on the advertising ourselves. We had just started rolling out a product before lockdown so when we could no longer get out to see potential customers social media became really important and we threw some time and $ at it and began to get some good results. We now need to ensure we are targeting the right people and directing them to the right products and, while we understand the basics of google/fb, we are struggling to move to the next stage. We have been badly stung by agencies in the past but really need some help – where can we get good quality training that goes beyond the basics?

I’ve only ever sold to friends and family up until now. But they’ve motivated me to start selling to other people! I’m just not sure how to even start?

Hey! Firstly thank you so so much for providing this platform! :DAs an emerging artist, I have finally got the confidence and courage to showcase my artwork by looking into creating my very own website and jump into the world of business. I had a question regarding branding my “business”, are there any suggestions for finding a designer or business that could help with creating a personal logo if you are on a very tight budget?Thank you 🙂
