      Question submitted 23/10/20 @ 11:56am

We are a transport company, contracting to Fulton Hogan Ltd.  The BNZ gave us a temporary overdraft, which runs out today, due to the last lockdown our revenue was cut and now we are short of capital to cover our expenses for the month. The BNZ will not extend our overdraft, even though we are working more hours.  We need help to cover our expenses, as well as look at taking on a driver to increase our monthly income.  Can you please advise where we can go for this? Thanks.

We have been hit hard with the lockdown and we need to stimulate sales sooner rather than later. We have emailed the majority of our customers  to let them know we are open but have had very little response. I have started ringing customers directly bit it is slow going. Would love to hear your suggestions.RegardsKevin

How can I get properly unbiased advice about options in dealing with aggressive IRD action over alleged personal debts that cannot now ever be paid as a result of covid19.  Accountants cannot help.  Tax lawyers want you to pay them to negotiate on your behalf. Insolvency ‘experts’ want you to pay them to help you into bankruptcy.

Help! My colleague rents beauty equipment and the hire place will not budge on the ongoing costs, over $2000 since lockdown began, the subsidy needs to go towards her mortgage not equipment at her salon that she is unable to enter. Zero cashflow coming in like everyone else, any information on how to approach this hire company AGAIN would be much appreciated. Her business is simply not going to survive this cost at $350 a week.

      Question submitted 22/04/20 @ 08:20am

Kia ora, we are a professional services organisation and we provide learning and development services nationwide.  Our normal models of working involve us travelling around the country by car and air, and also bringing our own team (just under 100) and other groups together around the country for hui, workshops and the like.  It is our reading of the current alert levels, that at level 2, we will predominantly continue to work remotely because we can (although some smaller engagements may be able to take place face-to-face) and we will not be holding events/training sessions (usually between 10 – 90 people).  I am currently forecasting and reworking budgets which look very different depending on whether we are travelling or not, and so my question is, understanding that none of us have a perfect crystal ball, what are people’s predictions as to how long level 2 might last?  How long are you modelling your level 2 scenarios for?  Thanks so much for your thoughts.

Firstly, thank you so much for your help here. I run a small shared studio space. We have 25 desks, and over 1/2 of our tenants have pulled out (all small businesses, 1-4 people) as they are each facing financial hardship. I expect more will follow. My landlord has not yet offered any form of rent holiday, even after a skype session & emails requesting that he assist in keeping our business alive. What would you suggest is the next best means of escalating this issue, and raising the fact that without his support we will soon be in a position where we have to vacate the lease (still 3 years left on our current lease agreement). Thanks,

Hi there I own a small doggy day care costs are high with rent and wages. I have the wage subsidy so I have been able to retain my young staff members.  We dont have any reserves. I am struggling to work out how best to bring my clients back many of them will still be working from home. At this stage I’m not sure how to incentivize their return or how to advertise our opening up again. Any help would be amazingKia kaha Annette
