Hi I need help with getting a position/opinion for the DIA in relation to my AML requirements and status as a business.I seem to fit outside the prescribed definitions, and therefore open to some degree of interpretation.I hope you have access to someone that can help.Note that I have been to One AML, and an independent consultant, and I’m now at the point where I’ll probably need either a legal opinion or some advice that will give me a defendable position with the DIA.Regards

Hello I have had a creditor who has put a debt collection agency onto us for a bill that was due on 20th February 2020. We have since paid the debt in full but now I have received a bill from the debt collection agency for $200 costs and $76 interest. I’m not even sure I have sign a application for credit with the creditor as we first started dealing with them 15 years ago. Should I pay the collection fees and interest, or ask for more information. The original amount was $950.Thanks

We have been contacted by an Australian law firm who is requesting that we forfeit some of our trademarks in our respective field. We don’t feel that this is necessary, or that their allegations hold any real weight but also at this stage don’t want to involve our lawyers and spend valuable capital to fight this. We feel as though this company is deliberately trying to pray on us during this pandemic, and I am just wondering what the best course of attack here is? I have attached the letter in the link section from the IP company. Look forward to hearing what anyone comes back with. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1RsuHziZsX3BYXM1vg743tl0F_spvm_UZzGRQpid31Dg/edit

I am looking at having to restructure parts of our business – (we have a hair salon and an online store) and shift the hours that our team are working – certainly in the early reopening days.I have never had to restructure the business or make these kinds of changes – I could really do with some advice on how I go about this

I am a service provider to the financial services sector – am I part of the essential services exemption?

      Question submitted 30/03/20 @ 11:38am

Hi. Agree with Phil's comments above - particularly whether it really matters whether you are essential or not. Most service providers to the financial services sector are working remotely (e.g. my team). Here's our note on how essential services works in the financial services context - https://minterellison.co.nz/our-view/covid-19-financial-services-are-essential-services If you need to know more, let us know a bit more about your circumstances.
