      Question submitted 06/11/20 @ 04:17pm

I have developed a new product which I wish to progress and am at the stage of Market Research to seek interested parties.. I am at odds to what processes to follow to seek this interest. I have a short video sample of my newly invented Patent Pending Product to view. I hope that I could possibly show the sample video to one of the appropriate Manaaki advisors to get their views. And advice as how to forward progress. I believe in this venture and hope you can help or point me in the right direction as to who can.RegardsBrent Savage

      Question submitted 29/10/20 @ 07:33pm

Hi there,We are a collaborative design business just starting up, called Ember-Ruby Design service. We are in need of some advice, as we need to purchase ArchiCAD 2021 to start our first job that we have been contracted, (we had the earlier version of this software but it is no longer compatible) This software is expensive an upfront cost of $10,700 and because we haven’t traded before we don’t know how we would be able to get a loan or grant to help us. Any advice would be very appreciative as we really don’t want to turn this job down. Kindest regards, Calit

How can I progress my new product developed to the next level hopefully to eventual commercialization and or sales? Or do I indeed have a commercially viable product?. I have a video sample that I am about to show hopefully interested parties but wish to gain your experts advice as to what they think, first. I have a small business and as to uncertainty as to a result of Covid,  am trying to diversify into other business ventures. RegardsBrent

Hey there! We launched our e-commerce business in Feb this year. The sales have been great even with the lockdown. The key successes we saw this year was that we hit a 5 figure income, we have a growing brand with a few retail partnerships and have a very promising product with trademarks and supplier relations in place. The biggest roadblock currently as a  solo entrepreneur is for me to decide whether to invite a partner to help me scale the business or sell the business as is. I say this because my mental energy has fully drained and in order to put in more innovation and scale I need someone to help me. How do I evaluate my business and estimate how much it is worth? I’m either looking to sell a share of the company or sell the company as a whole. Thank you,

Hi There,I own a Cycle tour company called Kiwi Journeys where we offer bike hire, tours and  transport on Tasman’s Great Taste Trail and the West Coast Wilderness Trail. We have a great business and were have a very good year until covid. The past 3 years have been tough with cyclones, fires and now covid. I’m not one to usually reach out but a friend suggested Manaaki to seek some help. Half of our business is, or was international. so we need to try and survive on domestic clients. My main concerns are surviving which I’m quite anxious about, keeping my top staff, marketing as I can’t see past social media and newsletters. We have debt so loaning more money isn’t an option. Would love to chat and if possible get some help with marketing and website feedback. Many thanks, Andrew

      Question submitted 20/05/20 @ 01:19pm

Kia Ora. We own and operate a food trailer in Whangarei. We have so many questions as to what we should do next. We have finished setting up the website via WordPress and completed the on-line shop. (https://handsomefrogcafe.com). We have been selling via the shop, mainly our handmade sourdough bread and our handmade pies. We have just increased the items for sale. We do not sell cheap products as they of high quality and hand made. We are Vegetarian and Vegan specialists, but also serve meat and fish products. The website needs a bit more work on it to finish it off so it looks more professional. The tracking of the sales is a bit clumsy and lengthy  (Woocommerce and Stripe payments). We are not sure how to advance with our marketing, or how to increase our sales. Do we continue to aim for the higher end of the market? We had a very successful season at the local markets, just before the closure due to covid. We do not employ any staff now, as we create and manage everything ourselves. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I have an idea and want support or help to raise to higher areas if people think this could work  Kiwi’s Holidaying at Home Aim: • Stimulate the economy after covid-19 • Focus on Tourism & Hospitality (keep employment in that sector) • Get Kiwi’s to holiday in NZ and experience what our country has to offer. Product: A pre-paid Eft-pos card distributed to every NZ Family that can only be used at physical locations that are part of the government pre-approved travel scheme. It needs to be an eft-pos card so people cannot spend it online overseas and to keep the transaction fees low. The card would have an app associated with it that would have. • Card Balance • Previous Transactions • Approved Venues and associated information • Booking information etc… • Could have a discount scheme for future use to entice kiwis to travel internally There would also be an associated Website and dashboard for the venues to apply for the travel scheme and enter the appropriate information of their business. This will also have consumer analytics to help the venue understand the people visiting to help with their marketing efforts etc.. Infrastructure: The card would run on the Paymark network and venues can be loaded overnight. Payment to the venues from the card would be paid overnight also via Paymark. Paymark would discount their fees The app would receive data from both the card database (transactions) and the website database for the venue information. Companies who offer the experience would offer discount for experience or accommodation or travel . this could be topped up by government or card . e.g K Jet boats in Queenstown charges !150 per ride but discounts to $ 100 . They could still be reimbursed a portion of what they gave away

      Question submitted 19/05/20 @ 02:54pm

We are a jewellery retail store.  We have been keeping customer 1m apart and keeping a contact tracing register.  We’ve now been told we don’t need to keep the register but have to have customers 2m apart.  Is this correct?  We can only be 1m apart at the till, and sometimes are in close contact with customers to measure their fingers for rings.Could someone please clarify?
